加拿大最近對打火機法規進行了修改，使其英文和法文版本針對可充氣打火機的標簽和帶芯打火機的測試要求取得一致。
挑戰
修改內容包括以下三部分：
法文版第7(1)部分“可充氣打火機—警示”修改后與英文版取得一致，要求可充氣打火機必須附有“清晰易懂”的警示。新版文字為：
7(1) "Le briquet rechargeable est accompagné d'un avertissement indiquant de manière claire et lisible, en français et en anglais, qu'il faut garder briquets et combustibles hors de la portée des enfants.”
(中文釋意：可充氣的打火機應附有用法語和英文書寫的清晰易懂的警告文字，防止兒童觸碰到打火機或燃料。)
英文版第7(2)部分“可充氣打火機—使用說明”修改后要求可充氣打火機必須附有“清晰易懂”的使用說明。新版文字為：
(2) "Every refillable lighter must be accompanied by clear and legible instructions that set out, in English and in French, the safe method of refueling the lighter, including”

兩個版本的第17部分“結構完整性”修改后的內容如下：
“英文版”
A wick lighter, when tested in accordance with section 12 of the schedule, must not exhibit rupture of its fuel reservoir or any other damage that could affect its safe operation.
(中文釋意：根據附錄第12部分測試過的帶芯打火機，不能存在燃料箱破裂或任何其他可能影響安全操作的損壞。)
“法文版”
Le briquet à essence, lorsqu'il est mis à l'essai conformément à l'article 12 de l'annexe, ne présente aucune fissure dans son réservoir de combustible ni aucun autre dommage qui pourrait en rendre l'utilisation dangereuse.

上述法規已經于2009年11月19日生效，新內容不會影響現行的打火機法規符合性和執行機制。
